Fully Lined Bodice (No Facing)

At 1/6 scale, facings double fabric thickness at the neckline. Lining the entire bodice removes the bulk and finishes both edges in one pass.

Demo film in production

Follow the written steps below in the meantime.

  1. 01

    Cut shell + lining identical

Mirror every piece in lining. Mark CF + CB notches on both before separating.

  2. 02

    Stitch shell shoulder seams only

Repeat for lining. Press both sets open with a tailor’s clapper.

  3. 03

Pin shell to lining, right sides together

Pin neckline + armholes. Side seams stay open — you’ll burrito them next.

  4. 04

    Stitch neckline + armholes

3 mm seam allowance. Clip into curves every 2 mm — at this scale, two clips on a 6 mm armhole is enough.

  5. 05

    Pull through the burrito

Reach through one open side and gently pull the back panel through the shoulder tunnel. The whole bodice turns right-side out.

  6. 06

    Match + stitch side seams

Treat shell + lining as a single layer. Press toward back. Done — no raw edges anywhere.
